  • avatar @Bartee: btw I read the Steam chat thread from January and I understand now why GG deals is the standard here. I might have overreacted. I still personally look at ITAD for my own shopping but I will use GG deals here. Thanks
  • @Bartee: as I mentioned before, I have adjusted my trading system with every piece of feedback. I personally would never buy from keyshops therefore I find gg deals pricing laughable. But hey you want it, I use it. But don't be rude.
  • avatar @Qvasar: We won't wait for you to reach 100 declines before a permaban though, since you keep saying that you want to trade according to YOUR rules and not according to OUR rules. Thus, I don't see why we would extend this situation indefinitely. It's like going to the market and saying that you refuse to pay with money and instead you insist on paying only with paper strips. Does that make any sense to you? Discussion closed now, will not reply further.
  • @Qvasar: You mean, the rules of Barter that you don't really acknowledge? Anyway, it's not a threat. It's a warning; we could have suspended you directly without any explanation, but we gave you several warnings instead, allowing you a to change your trading patterns. You have the choice to comply or not. You have the choice to go by ITAD or by GG.deals, all I'm saying is that if your offers are unfair according to this platform's rules, they will be declined by us.

  • avatar @Qvasar: I'd advise you to fix your offers ASAP, unless you want to be permanently banned. Stating in your overview message that you don't care about gg.deals pricing will not affect how we moderate your offers.
  • @Capo: So you intentionally use the wrong Barter item (Steam and not EA) so you can have more matches, then when someone is ready to trade it with you, you say "oh btw, it's an EA key!". Both of you are various degrees of laughable, but Capo's answer was expected to be against fair gg.deals values, because Capo himself engages often in lowballing. Let's see, if I send you an offer now for Dead Space and give you 1 ref, will you give me a Steam key?

  • avatar Based on gg.deals prices it was a fair offer for Dead Space (marked as Ref* so it's an EA key, not a Steam one). For Mini Metro I just see a lack of -1.61 CHF which is totally acceptable in my mind. I declined because I have no interest in these games.

  • @Bartee: rules that are not updated are not opposable, in legal terms - meaning they mean nothing. And valuing bundled games using keyshop data is both immoral and wrong. As a user, my options are: buy now, wait for HL, or trade. That’s it
  • avatar Considering lowest ITAD when you trade for bundle games also doesn't make sense. For a bundled game, Steam discounts are almost always several times the value of the game's bundle value. Anyway, no point in arguing further. To put it in simple words: if you want to trade on Barter, you have to follow the rules on Barter, regardless of what kind of evaluation scheme you invent for your trades.
  • @Qvasar: There are rules, applied starting Jan 2024. The text that says ""There are no set rules for valuing games on Barter" is outdated and should be modified to point to the ruleset. If you consider Mini Metro at 1€, then go trade for an Android copy. Similarly, trade for Dead Space (EA) and not for Steam. But applying one pricing to a different platform because that's convenient for you, is just laughable.

  • @Bartee Regarding gg deals. Is it not hypocritical to have the standard valuation system be a website that also includes keyshops, which most users do not want anyway and hurt devs? Shouldn't ITAD "historical low" be the gold standard?
  • @Bartee also you're failing to take into consideration the fact that every time I was moderated or received feedback, I have adjusted or cancelled a trade offer. The site needs to explain better to new users that gg deals is the only valuing system here
  • @Bartee And re: fulfilment rate, every single one was amicable (feel free to reach out to my counterparts). I don't see how fulfilment rate (in its raw form) has any relevance at all. I don't have disputed trades, do I?
  • @Bartee re: "most of other Barter users you sent offers to consider your offers unfair". I disagree. If I look at the data most of them decline because "do not want" or "already own". I only 1-2 times received a comment saying my offer was unfair.
  • @Bartee OK I checked the rules. I do not believe I repeatedly lowballed, as I have quite often "overballed" too. Also: "There are no set rules for valuing games on Barter". If you disagree with Barter's official stance on valuing, take it with site admin.
  • @Bartee are the offers that you declined "to protect me" included? Also, how can the price not be relevant? It's the same game! Steam users are also EA users. And who doesn't have a phone? PLEASE SEND ME SEND ME THE TOS AND OFFICIAL RULES.

Your Barter fulfillment rate is terrible, you have a 81% decline score which should tell you that not only us, but also most of other Barter users you sent offers to consider your offers unfair. Please fix your trading behavior ASAP.
  • Dead Space is 1€ for the EA version, you're trading for a Steam key now which is around 7€. What relevance does the price on Mini Metro on Android have, when you're trading for a Steam key? This is complete nonsense. Clearly you have a different evaluation system, but if you want to keep trading on Barter you will have to follow the rules here, instead of sending any kind of offer you like.
